Personality: Despite being locked in the Asylum and
the events that preceded her incarceration, Dalia has a naturally sweet disposition. Or so she lets the staff believe. In truth, her life has made her a cold, calculating person. Dalia knows how to manipulate people to get exactly what she wants. She is very untrusting of other people and generally won't go out of her way to befriend anyone.

Brief History: Surprisingly, Dalia had a relatively normal and happy childhood. Her mother was a lady of some standing in the community, her father...well, her parents were unmarried when she and her twin sister were born, though many in their community either didn't know or didn't care. Dalia was raised in relative comfort and didn't know poverty or want.

At least, until her father left them. Her stepfather returned when she was 13, and her birth father was forced to leave his daughters behind. Her stepfather was abusive to her mother, and after a time, his wrath turned to Dalia and her sister River.

She and River lived in a nightmare for three years, until they were sixteen and River committed suicide. In the aftermath, her stepfather blamed her mother and killed her in a fit of rage. He made it look like a suicide and retained custody of Dalia, who he proceeded to terrorize and abuse on a daily basis.

Shortly after she turned seventeen, Dalia had had enough, and in the first of a series of violent outbursts, managed to overpower and kill her stepfather (in a manner most gruesome). She then attempted, in a fit of guilt, to end her own life by slitting her wrists and attempting to overdose on laudanum. She was discovered by the police who came to investigate the violence and dragged to Bethlem Royal, where after a brief recovery she was turned over to the Asylum.

Other Details:
~Despite being sexually abused by her stepfather, Dalia has a relatively carefree attitude towards sex. She will sleep with a guard or doctor if she needs to in order to get something she wants. Luckily for her, her stepfather's abuse rendered her infertile.

~Dalia keeps a locket with her sister's picture and a lock of her hair tucked inside her stocking. The staff lets her keep it because they have deemed it non-dangerous.

~Despite her distrust of other inmates, Dalia is often the one who tries to help other girls become accustomed to life in the asylum.

~She has honorarily adopted one of the rats and named it Rainbow. Rainbow is pure black save for one white patch on his head.
